Positano Hotel Review: Why You Should Stay at the Luxurious Eden Roc Suites Hotel

Ainhoa Barcelona

Positano. It’s a star-loved destination where the quaint (and hilly) streets have been walked by the likes of Meghan MarkleSienna Miller, Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoonand more recently, the cast of sell sunset.

the stunner Italian village on the Amalfi Coast is one of the most popular and photographed in the region and it’s easy to see why. The terracotta-colored houses perched on the cliffside that lead to the bustling waterfront provide the perfect Instagram backdrop, as do the narrow, winding streets lined with shops and outdoor restaurants.

But the best view of the charming and posh village is undoubtedly from Hotel Eden Roc Suites. Located just ten minutes from the beach and the center of the busy shopping street, the Hotel has a privileged position. It’s an easy route to navigate in the hustle and bustle of the city, and the panoramic views of the sea and Positano on the approach won’t tire you.

The four-star hotel is, critically, slightly higher than other properties in Positano, giving guests the best views, whether from the rooms, the pool, the rooftop bar or the Mediterranean restaurant which serves a superb breakfast.

The Eden Roc Suites hotel exudes luxury and emphasizes modern and elegant decor. We stayed in a superior sea view room, with plenty of natural light and a small terrace facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. Waking up and drawing the curtains to myriad boats and sparkling blue waters never gets old.

Everything is as convenient as the press of a button, literally, from the touchscreen switches to operate your bedroom lights and the rain shower in the bathroom, to the USB ports at your bedside. The standard service you’d expect from a four-star hotel was provided, such as a minibar, smart TV, tea and coffee station, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, and amenities in the spacious, beautifully tiled bathroom . Elegant and comfortable, that’s how you would describe the rooms at the Eden Roc Suites hotel.

The elegant and modern rooms of the Eden Roc Suites hotel

The hotel’s common areas are located at the top of the property, where you’ll find some of the best views in Positano. There’s a small plunge pool on the roof with a few lounge chairs that would be enough for a dip and cooling off in the sweltering Amalfi Coast summer, but it’s not big enough for laps – if exercising during your vacation is on your list!

One of the hotel’s selling points is undoubtedly the Sky Bar. Although it may be reduced to the setting, it lets the view do the talking, putting Positano in the frame. Serving up gorgeous cocktails and appetizers, it’s the perfect place for an aperitif and you’ll find yourself queuing behind other guests to pose on the terrace for that Instagram-worthy shot as the sky fades from the blue to pink to orange.

Just above the Sky Bar and also offering breathtaking panoramic views is the unmissable restaurant Adam and Eve. Many restaurants in Positano serve fairly average food for the number of tourists, and we found that our best dinner of the trip was at the hotel restaurant where we could enjoy the view of Positano lit up at night.

With an emphasis on traditional Mediterranean cuisine and fresh seafood given the village’s proximity to the sea, the menu features dishes such as fried calamari, roast sea bass, citrus-scented lobster salad and salsa. essential risotto with red shrimp from Mazara. Additionally, organic ingredients are picked from the garden when possible. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive which makes for a wonderful evening.

The view of Positano from the hotel does not tire

Breakfast is also served in the same restaurant, which means guests enjoy the same incredible view the next day. Booking.com travelers rate it as “superb” so we had high hopes for the breakfast and it really did not disappoint.

The buffet catered for all types of appetites and dietary requirements, from continental pastries and bread to Italian hams and cheeses. There was also a good selection of cooked hot food, including eggs, bacon and sausage, or the option to order omelettes. The more health conscious will delight in the range of colorful fruit on offer, as well as yoghurts and cereals, as well as freshly squeezed juices. Tony, the energetic host, also took great pride in ensuring that each table never ran out of their freshly brewed coffee.

Rooms book up quickly at Eden Roc Suites and it’s easy to see why. With a rating of 9.4 on Booking.com, there is nothing to fault the hotel. If you are lucky enough to have availability, you will find that it will be difficult to tear you away at departure time.

Prices start from £349 for a sea view room for one night for two people. To book, go to booking.com.
