In Atman, Dharamshala has a new address for Family Nature Retreat

Nestled in the lower Himalayas, Dharamshala has traditionally attracted mountain and trekking enthusiasts from all over the country, especially from northern India. As the treks continue to attract young people and mountain climbers, the post-pandemic location is increasingly turning into a family destination where people come to spend time amidst nature for a quick reboot. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back spot with glorious valley views and a vast array of Dhauladhar’s magnificent ranges, Leisure Hotels Group’s newest property – Atman – may be your address. Also Read – For a Hazy Panoramic View of Dhauladhar Ranges – Radisson Blu Resort, Dharamshala Review

For a journey to regain your mindfulness and spend time with nature and feel its serenity, Atman is well placed. You can walk down the road from Khanyara to the local village with the huge peaks of Dhauladhar towering above you. The sound of the flowing river and the chirping of the birds add to the old-world charm of the mountains, something you miss in popular hill stations that are flooded with tourists these days.

Kitchen: You can choose from the range of food and drinks available. From continental to mughlai to specially prepared himachali cuisine, you have all the options available. Importantly, guests also have a choice of unique dining experiences on the property’s lawns and poolside.

The place is nicely designed. The upholstery of the piece is subtle and ensures that the pieces bring in a bit of nature. I spoke to the man in charge of the works – Shiv Mehan – who is directing the works on the property.

“Local people and local architecture are in every step of the process,” says Mehan, Operations Manager at Leisure Hotels Group.

“We are planning to change some parts of the interior and upholstery of the property. We also want to add more rooms in the future other than some infrastructure changes,” adds Shiv.

Wall-sized windows in the bedrooms give you stunning views of the splendid valley outside (you can also choose rooms overlooking the majestic peak of Dhauladhar mountain). Having your daily cup of tea to contemplate early in the morning is something I would highly recommend. There is a library for those who would like the solitude of the mountains for a quiet reading moment.

With friendly staff trained to meet your needs, Atman Dharamshala offers that ambience where you would love to take your family for that much needed break.
