Close to desert, beaches and mountains, the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort is a multi-award winning resort that stretches over 1.5 km of private sandy beach, just over an hour from downtown Dubai city.
Ras Al Khaimah is the most northerly in the UAE and has a much more low-key vibe than its neighbor, Dubai. The resort enjoys a superb beachfront location and excellent facilities including 7 swimming pools, water sports, spa, gym and kids’ club.
The dining room is a highlight with a choice of ten locations while the bedrooms are contemporary in style and have a private balcony or terrace.
The resort is popular with families who make the most of the seven pools, kids ‘and teens’ club, and villas with beach access. The gently sloping beach with calm water makes it very safe for swimming. It’s also ideal for couples who want a quieter location than the big resorts in Dubai, but still with all the amenities and good restaurants.
The hotel has 471 rooms, suites and beachfront villas. The bright and spacious rooms exude a fresh, contemporary feel and feature a private balcony or terrace with city, sea or garden views. I stayed in one of the recently renovated villas, the epitome of sophistication with all the usual comforts: flat screen TV, coffee and tea maker and generous bathroom with walk-in shower.
What I liked the most, however, was the fact that all the lights and lamps in the bedroom could be turned on and off with a single easy-to-use laser sensor switch, as was the bathroom and the lounge area. No jamming in the dark to turn lights on and off.
FOOD AND DRINK
It was rumored that hotel breakfast buffets would be a thing of the past after the covid pandemic. Not so in The kitchen, from European cuisine to South Asian delicacies, you can take a culinary journey around the world with breakfast alone. This is where breakfast is served (and lunch and dinner for all-inclusive guests). The resort is also well known for having possibly one of the best Italian restaurants in the UAE. Piaceri da Gustare serving the best seasonal Italian dishes a la carte. Al maeda is the contemporary Lebanese-inspired restaurant at the resort and regularly hosts special events. I had succulent and huge barbecue shrimp dinner at Sol Beach lounge and bar – a fun, energetic and friendly outdoor lounge bar, right on the beach and inspired by classic Mediterranean beach bars like Nikki Beach or Club 55. The resort has a total of 10 restaurants and bars, including sunset bar where you can relax with your favorite cocktail enjoying the sunset and the view of the Arabian Sea
The complex has 7 swimming pools including 1 salt water swimming pool. The latter looks like a body of water (I’ve been known in the past to swim in a room by mistake!), But it is a wonderful body of water to relax in or swim in while exploring the lateral channels. The spa has nine treatment rooms, two Moroccan hammams as well as a jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. The professional spa team offers body treatments, rejuvenating facials and body massages using ESSE products. Hilton Fitness offers state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment, while a world of entertainment is offered for kids at Kids Club – The Tree House or Teen Club – The Hide.
Rooms at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach resort start from AED 834 (£ 167) per night

WHAT IS NEAR
The resort is approximately 75 minutes from Dubai International Airport and the many activities and places of interest of Ras Al Khaimah are all easily accessible, including Jebel Jais Mountain and the world’s longest zipline (25 km) as well as the city center and shopping centers (5 km). )
For this food-loving Pisces water girl, the resort was a winner in every way. I especially liked the choice of pools, the variety of food and there was never a problem finding a sunbed. The resort and staff were welcoming and friendly and as a single female traveling alone felt very safe. I also liked that it was quieter and less blingy than some of the resorts and hotels in neighboring Dubai.
